Doctors from UK visit India to teach about health support

A group of doctors who are based in UK but originally from Kolkata are leading a project to teach people about basic health support. 

Working in collaboration with Humanity Hospital Kolkata founded by Padmashree Mrs Subhasini Mistry, Essex Indians community group have visited several parts of Bengal including Sundarban, and trained people in collaboration with Sundorbon Foundation.

11th August in a similar course at thw Indian Museum, the group trained people from different spheres of life starting from students of premier schools of Kolkata to marginalised people in Sonagachi area of Kolkata.

Indian museum's Education officer Dr Sayan Bhattacharya mentioned it is for the first time in the history of Indian Museum this kind of training course has happened. CultureMonks supported the event. Dr Anirban Mandal and Dr Arpita Ray lead the course. Doctors from Essex Indians group conducted  Emergency medical management  Course  on 13th August at Humanity Hospital.Dr Dipankar Mukhopadhyay, Dr Arpita Ray and Dr Prantik Das were part of the faculty.

Hands on training with maniquins and simulation training were performed. Dr Arpita Ray mentioned that this kind of training should be part of medical curriculum  but sadly that's not the case in India. Dr Anirban Mandal, Consultant Plastic Surgeon and member of the faculty, mentioned that it is encouraging to see that Humanity Hospital is leading in this front.
They staged a fund raising  drama show on 17th August at Tapan theatre Kolkata.
