According to a cancer charity, many women are not attending smear tests as they are embarrassed about their bodies.
Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust said that it was concerned that body image issues could be putting women's lives in danger. Data from a survey was released, coinciding with Cervical Cancer Prevention Week and the launch if its campaign #SmearForSmear 2018. The results revealed that one in four women did not take up the invitation for their smear test, while 1/3 of women were worried about the shape of their body.
