Cigarette packs to be hidden in cupboards

Tuesday 07th April 2015 17:07 EDT

From now on, shopkeepers – who often rely heavily on tobacco sales – must conceal the packets in cupboards.
And their promotion of cigarettes must be limited to a price list, price labels on shelves, and plain posters saying ‘cigarettes sold here’.
The removal of tobacco displays comes in advance of the ban on colourful packaging next year.
It also follows the introduction of the same rules in supermarkets and large stores in 2012.
