Pankaj Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of Zydus Cadila, has been elected President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry for the year 2017. Actively involved in various educational institutions, Patel is on the advisory committees and academic councils of several institutions, including the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, IISER, Kolkata, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
Patel is Executive Chairman, Vice President and Trustee of the Gujarat Cancer Society, and Chairman of the Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute. He will take over from Harshvardhan Neotia, Chairman of Ambuja Neotia Group during the FICCI AGM scheduled to be held on 16 and 17 December 2016.
