Former SpiceJet executive Arun Kashyap has launched Sirius India Airlines, a private charter carrier aimed at catering to the upscale travel market.

Kashyap, who served as the Chief Operating Officer at SpiceJet until early March, revealed plans to enter the air charter business, marking a strategic departure from his previous role in the commercial airline sector.

Sirius India Airlines has set its sights on expansion, starting operations with a single Hawker 4000 jet. However, the ambitious venture aims to swiftly expand its fleet, with projections to grow to three jets in the upcoming months.

"The joint venture aimed to provide a one-stop solution in the segment of charter business, fractional ownership in India and globally," the company said in a statement.

In a move aimed at bolstering its operations and reach, Sirius India Airlines has entered into a partnership with Dubai-based Transworld Global Group's Airavat Aviation. Airavat Aviation is a luxury private air travel with a presence in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Looking ahead, Sirius India Airlines has outlined ambitious growth targets, with plans to incorporate a diverse range of aircraft into its fleet. By the end of the fiscal year 2025, the airline aims to add nearly a dozen charter aircraft, ranging from 9-seaters to 100-seaters, catering to various travel needs and preferences.
