After a lengthy hiatus, Malayalam icons Shobana and Mohanlal are set to reunite on screen. Regarded as one of Malayalam cinema's most successful pairings, they have collaborated on a remarkable 56 films. Their upcoming project, tentatively titled "L360," marks their reunion after nearly two decades. Shobana herself shared the news in a video posted on Instagram.
“After many years, I am doing a Malayalam film, and I am super excited. The director is Mr Tharun Moorthy who has also scripted the film. The producer of the movie is Sri Rajaputra Ranjith. And can you guess who the hero is? Yes! It is Sri Mohanlal. This is the 360th film of Lal Ji. So, I like to wish him all the best. And as our combination… this is our 56th film together. So, again, I am super excited. And hope everybody loves the film,” Shobana said in the selfie video.
Directed by Tharun Moorthy, known for films like "Operation Java" and "Saudi Vellakka," the upcoming movie brings together Shobana and Mohanlal, who last appeared together in "Mambazhakkalam" (2004). "L360" marks their reunion after two decades.
It's been four years since Shobana starred in a Malayalam film, her last appearance being in "Varane Avashyamundu" (2020) where she portrayed a single mother. In the film, she played the mother of Kalyani Priyadarshan, portraying a complex character torn between romance and motherhood responsibilities.
