Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, was one of the top heroines in the 60s and the 70s. One of her yesteryear super hits 'Suryagandhi' is soon to be re-released in a digitised format. Amma, as she is fondly called, played lead actress in the film directed by Muktha Srinivasan. The cast included Muthuraman, Manorama, Major Sundararajan and other leading actors of the day. Scheduled for re-release on September 16, music for the movie was scored by MS Viswanathan and has classics like 'Paramasivan kazhuthil irundhu' and 'Naan endral adhu avalum naanum'.
