While nepotism remains a heated topic of discussion in Bollywood, it's not as prominent in the South, particularly due to the prevalence of major stars coming from legacy film backgrounds. However, in a discussion with Mashable India, he candidly acknowledged that both he and Dulquer Salmaan are 'nepo kids' and have had certain advantages compared to their peers.

When questioned about Dulquer, Prithviraj disclosed that they reside near each other in Kerala and both come from film backgrounds. Upon further inquiry, he emphasised, "I'll speak solely about myself." He acknowledged and embraced the reality that his entry into the industry was facilitated by his family name. Prithviraj admitted, "I understand and accept the fact that I've had it easy. I landed my first film solely because of my surname. I wasn't even screen-tested; someone simply believed I'd excel as an actor because of my lineage."

Prithviraj expressed his viewpoint that once individuals enter the film industry, the playing field becomes equal in terms of proving oneself. "I attribute my first film solely to my surname. However, that's where it ends. When it comes to Friday releases, talent is the ultimate decider. There are no safety nets or boards of directors to intervene. You're out there to face judgement," he emphasised. Prithviraj acknowledged his privileged entry into the industry but remained cognizant that there are individuals more talented than him awaiting their chance.
