Tamil actor and stand-up comedian Karthik Kumar has sent a legal notice to his ex-wife, playback singer R Suchitra, regarding recent interviews wherein she made allegations against him. On May 16, his legal counsel issued notices to Suchitra and two YouTube channels for videos where it was claimed that Karthik Kumar was described as 'gay'. Furthermore, he has demanded that Suchitra refrain from discussing him and retract her statements to prevent potential criminal defamation proceedings.

In recent days, Suchitra's interviews discussing various actors, 'Suchi Leaks', and her personal life have garnered significant attention. During these interviews, she made serious allegations against Karthik Kumar, Dhanush, Trisha, Vijay, Kamal Haasan, Andrea Jeremiah, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, and others.

She alleged that Karthik Kumar and Dhanush were gay. In her interviews, Suchitra stated that the infamous 'Suchi Leaks' incident in 2017 was a 'prank' orchestrated by Karthik and Dhanush. In 2017, a series of private pictures and videos of actors in the Tamil film industry were leaked on Suchitra's X (formerly Twitter) account. At that time, Karthik claimed that Suchitra's account had been hacked and that she was not in a stable mindset.

Several years later, Suchitra revisited the 'Suchi Leaks' controversy in recent interviews conducted on two YouTube channels, Kumudam and Reflect Talks. Additionally, she provided interviews to several other channels on the matter.
