Actor Vijay Varma has addressed his skin condition, vitiligo, which causes loss of pigment in patches. He shared that while he "covered it up" for movie roles, he chose not to hide it during public appearances. Varma also admitted that there was a time when his condition concerned him.
Vijay Varma commented, “I didn’t make a big deal out of it. It’s just a cosmetic issue and doesn’t change the course of your life. We tend to exaggerate it because it’s visible, but I’ve never let it affect me significantly. It used to worry me when I was struggling for work, wondering if it would be an obstacle. However, now that I’m working and finding success, it no longer bothers me.”
He added, “I cover it up for movies because it can be distracting, and I want the audience to focus solely on the performance. However, I’ve never hidden it during public appearances. Today’s generation is perceptive and responsible, and I haven’t faced any negative remarks about my skin condition. In another era, it might have been a bigger topic of discussion.”
