Reema Kagti’s upcoming film ‘Superboys of Malegaon’ will premiere globally at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Based on the lives of Nasir Shaikh and other amateur filmmakers in Malegaon, Maharashtra, the film draws inspiration from Faiza Ahmad Khan’s award-winning documentary *Supermen of Malegaon*.

The trailer for ‘Superboys of Malegaon’ opens with stunning cinematography by Swapnil Sonawane, who also worked on India’s official entry for the 95th Academy Awards, ‘Chhello Show’. The film tells the story of a group of young men in Malegaon who, despite communal tensions, poverty, and hardship, unite to turn their passion for filmmaking into a vibrant dream factory.

‘Superboys of Malegaon’ features a stellar cast, including Adarsh Gourav from ‘The White Tiger’, Vineet Kumar Singh of ‘Mukkabaaz’, and Shashank Arora from ‘Made In Heaven’. In a special preview, director Reema Kagti discussed how the film’s unique genre sets it apart from contemporary Indian cinema and expressed hopes of appealing to the Indian diaspora, beginning with Canada.

Co-written by Varun Grover and Reema Kagti, ‘Superboys of Malegaon’ follows Nasir and his friends through life’s challenges. The film blends humour, adventure, and vibrant characters, celebrating the magic of creativity, determination, loyalty, and friendship.
