Indian celebrities shine bright at Cannes film festival 2024

The Cannes Film Festival, an illustrious event synonymous with glitz, glamour, and cinematic excellence, has once again rolled out the red carpet for the global film fraternity.Many Indians walked the red carpet from celebrities to influencers. 

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been a regular at the Cannes Film Festival since 2002. Over the years, she has walked the red carpet in the most commendable designer outfits. The actress is the global ambassador for L’Oreal Paris and represents the brand at the festival. She has also created history with her appearances at the festival in the past two decades. The Heeramandi star Aditi Rao Hydari will make her comeback at Cannes this year. She is an ambassador as well as a spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris.

Bollywood actress Kiara Advani also debuted at the Cannes Film Festival. The Shershaah star will represent India at the Red Sea Foundation’s Women in Cinema Gala dinner at Cannes 2024. The event aims to celebrate women’s achievements in the entertainment industry. Jaqueline Fernandez will also be making her come back to the film festival soon. The actress has confirmed that she is representing the Southeast Asian diaspora at the film festival. Actress and model Urvashi Rautela is also a regular at Cannes Film Festival. Moreover, she allegedly walked the red carpet of the festival’s opening ceremony this year.

Influencers have also become regulars at the Cannes Film Festival. This year, several Indian influencers are walking the red carpet representing different brands. Ankush Bahuguna, RJ Karishma, Vishnu Kaushal, Niharika, Aastha Shah, and others are attending the Cannes Film Festival.

Fashion influencer Nancy Tyagi made her Cannes debut in a stunning pink gown crafted from over 1,000 meters of fabric. Meryl Streep adorned earrings by Indian designer Hanut Singh at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. She wore them while receiving the prestigious honorary Palme d'Or on the festival's opening night. Hanut Singh expressed his excitement on social media, sharing images of Streep wearing his earrings. Film ‘Manthan’ screened at Cannes
The restored version of veteran filmmaker Shyam Benegal's 1976 film Manthan was screened at the Bunuel Theatre at Cannes as part of Cannes Classics 2024. The event was attended by the Film Heritage Foundation (FHF) team, along with FHF director Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, Naseeruddin Shah, Verghese Kurien's daughter Nirmala Kurien, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Prateik Babbar, who graced the red carpet.

Naseeruddin Shah dedicated the standing ovation for Manthan to director Shyam Benegal and all those who were indispensable in the making of the film.
