Amid ongoing debates about how access to global content on streaming platforms has influenced audience preferences and affected theatre attendance, actor Divyendu, who recently appeared in the web series ‘Life Hill Gayi,’ shares that OTT has “satiated” his creative hunger as an artist.

Reflecting on his journey, the actor, known for his roles in web series such as ‘Mirzapur’, ‘Salt City’, and ‘The Railway Men’, shares, “I was doing well in theatrical films and felt content, but when OTT platforms emerged, they became nourishment for my soul, fulfilling my artistic hunger like nothing else. It ignited a fresh energy within me.”

He adds that OTT opened new opportunities for him, saying, “I wanted to dive into diverse characters and reveal different facets of my abilities. OTT gave me the perfect platform to truly showcase my talent.”

The actor emphasises that the quality of work matters more to him than the medium. “It’s not about how ‘successful’ you are in films. What truly brings me happiness is choosing the right projects, collaborating with the right people, and doing the work I want to do,” says the 41-year-old. He adds, “Films can sometimes feel restrictive with their do’s and don’ts, but OTT offers more freedom. Otherwise, no one would have imagined a happy-go-lucky guy like me playing a character like Munna.”
