From his musical endeavours to international collaborations and movie projects, he remains a prominent figure in the industry. Currently, his upcoming film 'Chamkila' is the talk of the town for all the right reasons.
In a recent media interview, Diljit openly shared insights into the intensive preparations he underwent for his role. He also highlighted the invaluable guidance provided by acclaimed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali.
Reflecting on his portrayal of Amar Singh Chamkila, Diljit disclosed that embodying the persona of such an iconic figure required a process of unlearning and self-discovery. He expressed that it was a unique artistic opportunity for him to embark on this transformative journey. Although starting from scratch could be daunting, Diljit viewed it as a chance for personal and professional growth. While admitting that he didn't extensively delve into the preparations for the role, he credited Imtiaz Ali for his instrumental role in shaping the narrative.
Dosanjh remarked, "He had a clear vision about the character of Chamkila. I knew Chamkila as an artist, but I had no idea about how he was as a person or how he would perform on stage. I got a lot of help from Imtiaz, sir."
