Actor Varun Dhawan shared that his father, David Dhawan, didn't direct his debut film because their family doesn't follow the tradition of launching family members.

He said, "She’s my niece, but I’m here more as an elder brother. It’s a good film, and that’s why I’m supporting it. My father didn’t launch me, as we don’t have that tradition in our family. We don’t believe in taking credit for each other's success, and it would be wrong for me to do so."

"Genuinely, she has done it on her own and I am very proud of her that she has done this journey,” Dhawan told reporters here.

Directed by Ssanjay Tripaathy, *Binny And Family* is a family drama that delves into the relationships and complexities between three generations, with Anjini in the lead role as Binny.

Varun Dhawan expressed his hope that Anjini receives the same love and praise from audiences that he and his father, David Dhawan, have enjoyed over the years. He said, "It's an emotional day for me because my uncle, Anil Dhawan, is a big reason I'm in the movies. Despite what I say, she's the one who carried this film. She wasn't cast because of me or my dad."

Dhawan also highlighted the maturity of his niece's generation, noting, "They're smart and don’t live in a bubble. They already understand that life is difficult and are prepared to work hard. This generation is teaching us something valuable."
