After pulling out an intense character of an alcoholic and drug addict surgeon in 'Kabir Singh', Shahid Kapoor is preparing hard to portray the role of a cricketer in his upcoming sports drama titled 'Jersey'. While the Shahid starrer is set to go on floors this month in Chandigarh, the latest image of the star has surfaced on the internet, where he is holding a bat in his hand. The actor has been taking regular practice sessions to hone his cricketing skill in this remake of Nani's Telugu hit that had released earlier this year.
Talking about the film, Shahid recently said, "It took me some time to decide what to do next after ''Kabir Singh''. But the minute I saw ''Jersey'', I knew I wanted it to be my next. It is a wonderful inspiring and personal human journey that I connected with deeply. "According to a source, Shahid is "learning the ropes of playing a cricketer on-screen by regularly going for the cricket sessions." The remake is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original one and is produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill and Dil Raju. It is set to hit the screens on August 28, 2020.
'Jersey', is an emotional journey of an underdog cricketer (Nani), who begins his second inning to regain a place in the cricket team. It also featured Shraddha Srinath, Sathyaraj, Brahmaji and Ronit Kamra in pivotal roles.
