Veteran actor Rio Kapadia has passed away at the age of 66. He is survived by his wife, Maria Farah, and kids Aman and Veer. The cremation ceremony took place at Shiv Dham Shamshan Bhumi in Goregaon. He had been diagnosed with cancer and has been undergoing treatment for the last few years.
Many took to social media to pay their last tributes. Abhishek Bachchan, who worked with Rio Kapadia in 'Big Bull', took to Twitter to pay his last tribute and wrote, "Was very sad to read of the passing of Rio Kapadia. We worked together on Happy New Year and The Big Bull. Most gentle, articulate and caring. He was also a wonderful painter. I have many of his sketches. You will be remembered very fondly, sir. My condolences to his family and friends."
Apart from films, the late actor was also seen in the television show 'Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke.' He played the role of Gandhari's Father, King Subala of Gandhara, in Siddharth Tewary's 'Mahabharat.' Throughout his career, Rio has remained outspoken about actor's rights in the television industry and urged other actors to show support for one another
He was last seen in one of the episodes of the Prime Video series 'Made in Heaven' Season 2.
