Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor's action-thriller 'Saaho', which is nearing to the end of its theatrical run, has achieved yet another milestone at the box office that won't be easy for the upcoming films to equal or break. The mega-budget venture has collected around £ 500,000 in the market of Odisha and has become the second-highest Hindi grossing film in that circuit after 'Baahubali 2' (also Prabhas starrer). The film has beaten all the biggies like 'Sanju', 'Dangal', 'Tiger Zinda Hai', 'Sultan' and 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' to achieve this feat at the box office.
Shraddha Kapoor has started off her year with a bang as she did two great films, 'Saaho' and 'Chhichhore,' both having done extremely well at the box office. And with that, Shraddha has become the first star to have given back-to-back releases that have done so well.
The movie doing so well in Hindi also proves the growing fan base of Prabhas in the Hindi belt. Despite the record-breaking business of 'Baahubali', Prabhas took a pay cut for 'Saaho.' “Bahubali has set the bar high, but Saaho was a £25 million film, so I knew I couldn’t charge my usual remuneration. I started out with a 20 per cent cut. Then, the film went slightly over and though my friends were ready to pay up, I couldn’t take their money knowing they were putting in so much without thinking of what they’d earn," he said explaining the reason.
The actor also revealed that he still feels surreal with the response he got for 'Baahubali.' “I am still wondering if it (franchise) really happened, it’s surreal. A few months ago, Karthikeya, Rajamouli’s son and a friend, called to inform that 'Skyfall', 'Harry Potter' and the 'Goblet of Fire' and 'Bahubali 1 and 2' will be screened at London’s Royal Albert Hall in October in the ‘10 Years of Films in Concert’ series with live orchestra. Excited, I told him I want to be there too, feel a part of the magnum opus again.”
Produced by UV Creations and T-Series, 'Saaho' is directed by new comer Sujeeth. The action thriller promises high decibel action scenes as the crew spent months on shooting the action scenes and on VFX. The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey, Mandira Bedi and Mahesh Manjrekar.
