Priyanka Chopra and American singer fiance Nick Jonas are set to tie the knots in a couple of days. Not a lot of details are known about their love story until they couple gave a pretty candid interview to Vogue. Priyanka will feature on the cover of Vogue's January issue, and in talks with them, reveals details on how they met, who texted first, and starting a family together. Completely smitten over her beauty, it was Nick who approached Priyanka and sent her a direct message on Twitter in September 2016. “I am hearing from a few mutual friends that we should meet,” it read. PeeCee was prompt to alert him that her team can read those messages and he should contact her on her cellphone instead.
The two later met at the Vanity Fair Oscars party where Jonas got down on one knee in front of a crowd. He said, “And I put my drink down, get on one knee-this is in front of a bunch of people, and I say, 'You're real. Where have you been all my life?' Like loud.” The couple also revealed how The 26 year old did not kiss the 'Quantico' star on their first date and she is mad about it to this day. Chopra then invited him to her house where he mother was watching television in her night gown. “We hung out for a couple of hours... He patted my back before he left,” Priyanka said.
Nick confirmed saying, “There was no kiss. There was no nothing.” “There was a back pat,” she repeated. To which her fiance said, “She's still upset about that. Your mom was in the house! I thought it was a respectful first night.” PeeCee was quick to chirp, “It was too respectful if you ask me.” By their third date, Nick knew he wanted to Marry her and called up his mother to give her the news. He proposed to her in Greece with a Tiffany ring he had purchased a week ago. “I got down on one knee, again, and I said, 'Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?' No joke, sh took about 45 seconds. Forty-five seconds of silence. When she didn't say anything,” Nick said, he told her, “I'm going to put this ring on your finger now unless you have any objections.”
The two will tie the knot in Jodhpur's Umaid Bhawan Palace on December 2. There will be two ceremonies, one Hindu and one Christian- the latter will be officiated by Nick's father. The groom will arrive on a horse for the Hindu wedding. Priyanka will wear a custom Ralph Lauren gown, with change in outfit during the day. Lauren had personally made wedding dresses only for his daughter, his daughter-in-law and his niece before this. While Nick will be dressed in a bandhgala with a turban and a sword, and will ride on a mare, for the Indian wedding.
