Malaika Arora recently revealed that her relationship with her ex-husband Arbaaz Khan has only gotten better since they decided to end their marriage. The two tied the knot in December 1998 and finalised their divorced in May 2017 after 18 years of marriage. She is since dating actor Arjun Kapoor while Arbaaz is in a relationship with Giorgia Andriani. The two continue to co-parent their son Arhaan, 19.
In a recent interview, Malaika said she has a much better equation with her ex-husband since they decided to call it quits. When asked if she continues to be friends with Arbaaz, she said, “We have a better equation now. We are far more mature. We’re just happier, calmer people. He’s a wonderful man, I only wish him the best in life. Sometimes, people are wonderful but they just aren’t great together. That’s just how it is. I would always wish him well.”
She added about her decision to end the marriage, "I think I made my choice and I put myself first. And I think by doing that, I am a much better person today. I have a better relationship with my son; he sees that I am much happier. I have a much better relationship with my ex-husband. I’m happy I made these decisions and I stood up for myself. So, for women out there, don’t be scared. Don’t be afraid to follow your heart. Yes, you will ruffle feathers but life is not easy. You can’t make everyone happy.”
On the work front, Malaika was last seen on TV as one of the judges on ‘India's Best Dancer’. Arbaaz will be next seen in Sony LIV's show ‘Tanaav’, an adaptation of the Israeli show ‘Fauda’. He stars alongside Satyadeep Mishra, Manav Vij, Arslan Goni, Rajat Kapoor, Zarina Wahab, Shashank Arora, and Ekta Kaul among others in the tense political drama.
