Madhuri Dixit, Bollywood's iconic star, married Dr Shriram Nene, a cardiovascular surgeon, in 1999 at the peak of her career. After relocating to Colorado, she focused on family life, raising two sons, Arin and Ryan, while appearing in fewer films. Returning to India in 2011, she recently shared why she turned down Hollywood offers during her time in the US.
Madhuri Dixit explained that she turned down Hollywood offers while pregnant with her second child, as she didn’t want to work during that time. Unlike some Bollywood peers who pursued careers in the West, she focused on building her family, which was also part of her dreams. "I didn't actively think about Hollywood films; I was happy with my work in India, which is appreciated worldwide," she shared.
Madhuri Dixit shared how excited she was when her sons, Arin and Ryan, watched ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ in a theatre and enjoyed her role as a ghost. "They found it funny and really liked it. I’ve got their approval for this film," she said.
However, Madhuri prefers not to push her sons to watch her films, letting them discover her work on their own. "They sometimes watch scenes and tell me I was cool in the K Sera Sera music video, but I don’t make them watch my movies. I'll let them explore that with their friends," she smiled.
