Shooting for Kangana Ranaut's upcoming 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' is over and all that is left is some patchwork. However, reports suggest that director Krish Jagarlamudi is now busy with NTR biopic that features an ensemble star cast of Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vidya Balan, Rana Daggubati and Rakul Preet. Which is why, leading actress Kangana has decided to take over charge of completing the remaining work not only as the actor, but also as director of the movie.

A source has confirmed the news saying, “Yes, there is some patchwork still to be completed and Krish has got busy with the NTR biopic. He is not to be blamed, Manikarnika is a period drama and such movies takes time. Kangana speaks to Krish over the phone almost every day to discuss the filming. He is there in spirit with the team of Vijayendra Prasad who has written the story and screenplay, and Prasoon Joshi who has penned the dialogue and lyrics, working closely with Kangana to wrap up the film.”

Produced by Kamal Jain and Zee Studios, the film will mark the acting debut of Deepika Padukone's ex-boyfriend Nihaar Pandya who will portray the character of Baji Rao the second. 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' is set to hit the screens on January 25.
