While Deepika Padukone and rumoured boyfriend (fiancé?) Ranveer Singh have never openly accepted (nor denied) their relationship, their fondness for each other have never been in the shadows. While Dippy has openly gushed over the eccentric hunk, there was something different in the way she opened about her equation with him and a possible future work collaboration.
Praising Ranveer's portrayal of Sulan Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavat', Deepika said, “The first time I watched him onscreen since we never had any scenes together. I cannot think of any actor who would have done this role and brought in the kind of intensity he did with Khilji. It was an actor backed part but he made Khilji his own. He gave justice to the menacing part of Khilji. Audiences had to hate him to love his work. Actors are usually scared of doing negative roles for the fear of being typecast.” She added, “But today the audiences have evolved. They are more aware. They hated Khiljis character but loved Ranveer in it.”
When asked whether she is critical of his work, she said, “I am very protective about Ranveer. When the world gushes on him, I am honest with my feedback of him.”
On the work front, Deepika was last seen in 'Padmavat', and was scheduled to shoot for her film with Vishal Bhardwaj and Irrfan Khan, but the film has been reportedly postponed due to Khan's ill health.
