Veteran Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor has been chosen for the Dada Saheb Phalke Award for his contribution to the Indian cinema. Kapoor, who turned 77 earlier this month, is the 46th winner of the prestigious award. The award is presented annually at the National Film Awards ceremony by the Directorate of Film Festivals. Shashi Kapoor has acted in a large number of Hindi films as well as in a few English films. Also, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 2011.
