On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh shared the first picture of their daughter, revealing her name as Dua Padukone Singh.
Deepika shared the picture on Instagram, explaining the meaning behind their daughter's name. She wrote, "Dua Padukone Singh | ‘Dua’: meaning a prayer. Because she is the answer to our prayers. Our hearts are filled with love and gratitude. Deepika and Ranveer (sic)." The couple dressed their little one in a charming red ethnic outfit.

Ranveer Singh once shared his desire to be a father and have a daughter like his wife, Deepika Padukone, during his quiz show ‘The Big Picture’. He told a contestant, "I’m married and hope to have kids in the next 2-3 years. Your sister-in-law was such a cute baby. I look at her baby photos daily and tell Deepika, 'Give me a baby like this, and my life will be set.' I’m already shortlisting names."
