Actor Amitabh Bachchan paid respects to his late father Harivansh Rai Bachchan on his birth anniversary on November 27. Bachchan took to his blog over the weekend and penned a note in memory of his father. He said he offered a prayer for his ‘Babuji’ in front of his image in his old room in the family bungalow Prateeksha.
Bachchan gave a virtual tour of the room, where his father breathed his final and serves as “mute reminders of his presence.”
“In the purple of life and in the remembrance of the birth of Babuji, a short prayer on his image at Prateeksha, his room where he worked where he breathed his last and which remains sacred. The house now houses his books that lived and stood mute reminders of his presence now in close proximity, to give credence to those days years and hours he spent, wheeled out from one to the other space, silently reading and rereading his ‘aatmakatha’ – as though he wished to relive his journey again and again. One that he had confessed that would he have another life then it would be this and no other, with all its pain, happiness, struggles and achievements. All. As would I,” he wrote on his blog.
The actor had, earlier in the day, shared a rare picture of him and his father from his wedding day. He wrote, “The day of my wedding and his expression of fulfillment to not just be in congratulation but instead to be in the face of a belief, a chime, an ultimate season of love and great passion, of the quarries of the fears and conditionings of these deprived gym routines kart.”
He added, “This could have been unknown for long facilitating years, to give not expected versions and lastly large scale information of the insides; but as time passed by, as does now, they explained purposely, the values of education and similarity.”
On the work front, Bachchan is currently hosting the latest season of the television show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. He will soon be seen in Nag Ashwin’s untitled new film ‘The Intern’s Hindi remake, and Vijas Bah’s ‘Goodbye’.
