There are reports of a 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun' remake and we are freaking out! Sooraj Barjatya's 1994 sentimental musical hit the screens over two decades and the buzz now is that Rajshri Productions is keen on remaking their modern-day classic. Interestingly, RP's Facebook page also conducted an open poll recently, asking fans who they would like to see in the much loved lead roles originally played by actors Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan.
The poll asked for suggestions for actors who could regenerate the simple yet beautiful chemistry between Nisha and Prem, and the thing worth noticing is that they only offered two options, 'Alia Bhatt-Varun Dhawan' in one category and another one being 'Others'. People on the internet were so amped up with the poll that around 2000 people voted. And to top things, Renuka Sahane, who played the adorable bhabhi in the original, has pitched Alia and Varun for a remake. “Revisiting 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun' would surely bring something different this time around. If it's remade for the younger generation, I think they'd like to see the characters in a modern sort of way.”
Sahane also added, “'Hum Aapke Hain Koun' is a very family-oriented film, where everyone loves each other. It started this whole plethora of Sangeet, Mehendi functions at all family weddings and that has not gone out of fashion yet, so, definitely, a 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun' remake would still work and I'd love to see Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan play the new-age Nisha and Prem.” Both, Alia and Varun have grown to become B-towns's absolute favourite on-screen couple, and are currently set to star in Dharma Productions' 'Shiddat'. They have collaborated in three films, making a debut together, all that went on to become hits.
