One of the highly-anticipated debut films of the year, release of Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter's 'Dhadak' has been postponed. Earlier slated to release on 6th July, it has now been moved to July 20. The news was shared by the film producer Karan Jogar, who wrote, “Six months to Dhadak #dhadak releasing 20th JULY 2018! Directed by @ShashankKhaitan and PRESENTING #Janhvi and #Ishaan @DharmaMovies @ZeeStudios_@apoorvamehta18.”

He made the announcement along with a beautiful poster of the film. Inspired by Marathi blockbuster 'Sairat', the movie is a love story between an upper caste girl and a guy from a lower caste. Director Shashank Khaitan, of 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' fame, have called the two young stars-in-the-making, very hardworking. “Janhvi and Ishaan are great people and are very hardworking. These are the two things that I always look for in actors.”

Khaitan also clarified that the basic premise of his film and the Marathi hit is the same, but the setting is different. “The basic premise is same. But there are variations. My story is based on another set up. It is in Rajasthan. It comes with its own challenges, conflicts and style of a love story. We are adapting 'Sairat' into the world that we want to.”
