British Indian author shortlisted for Man Booker Prize

British Indian author Sunjeev Sahota is among the six final writers shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize for Fiction 2015, it has been announced.

Derbyshire-born Sahota in his book 'The Year of the Runaways' writes about 13 young men, living in a house at Sheffield, each from India and in desperate search of a new life.

This is the second year that the prize, has been open to writers of any nationality, writing originally in English and published in the UK. Previously, the prize was open only to authors from the UK & Commonwealth, Republic of Ireland and Zimbabwe.

The 2015 winner will be announced on October 13.
