Days after his nomination at the Golden Globe for Sound of Metal, Riz Ahmad has won a London Critics’ Circle film award for his role as an up and coming hip hop star in Mogul Mowgli. This paves the way for his Oscar nomination, making him a favourite among bookies to bag an Academy award in April.
Congratulating Riz, the BFI tweeted: “Congratulations to @rizwanahmed on winning the @londoncritics British/Irish Actor of the Year Award for #MogulMowgli and Sound of Metal #londoncritics.”
