Subhash Thakrar and wife Rekha hosted Tory party leadership candidate Rishi Sunak at their residence in Moor Park on Friday 19 August, on the auspicious day of Janmashtami festival. The gathering took place in their garden for members of Southwest Hertfordshire Conservative party as well as some key invited guests.
While Mrs Thakrar welcomed Mr Sunak with positive feedback about his role as UK’s ex-Chancellor, daughter Kavita tied a rakhi on him, especially brought from the Brahma Kumari Mission to bless him. Welcoming guests, Mr Thakrar emphasised on the importance of hosting the Tory party leadership candidate on the holy festival of Janmashtami.
Mr Sunak then took questions from the audience about innovations, HS2, BBC license, trade and investment with Africa, immigration, community dialogues and UK-India relationship.
Gagan Mohindra MP, who was present at the gathering, emphasised on the importance of voting for the leadership contest, which closes on 2 September.
