A spiritually uplifting evening unfolded under the radiant presence of Pujya Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji Maharaj, esteemed founder of Shri Chandana Vidyapeeth (SCVP) – the UK’s longest-established Jain school. Held on Saturday, 29 March 2025, the event brought together dignitaries from leading Jain organisations and devoted supporters of Veerayatan to commemorate its inspiring 50-year legacy of compassion, education, and spiritual service. A revered Jain nun, distinguished scholar, and eloquent speaker fluent in multiple languages, Sadhviji captivated the audience with her presence and message.

One of the evening’s highlights was The Wild Mind, a thought-provoking skit on mindfulness and prayer, performed with remarkable confidence by SCVP students aged 7 to 13. Their poise and insight left the audience deeply moved.

Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji, the first Jain Sadhvi to earn a postgraduate degree overseas (M.Phil. in Comparative Religion, University of London), delivered a compelling talk on Veerayatan’s humanitarian mission. Under the visionary leadership of Param Pujya Acharya Shri Chandanaji (Tai Ma), the organisation now serves communities across 20+ centres in India and abroad—through healthcare, education, and disaster relief. Among its shining initiatives is Veerayatan Vidyapeeth in Kutch, Gujarat, a project personally nurtured by Sadhviji for nearly two decades, transforming rural lives through education.

Rooted in the timeless teachings of Tirthankar Mahavir, Veerayatan stands on three pillars: Seva (selfless service), Shiksha (inclusive education), and Sadhana (spiritual growth). Its mission is to uplift lives with compassion, dignity, and purpose—transcending all boundaries.

The evening concluded with touching reflections from SCVP students, expressing how the school has shaped their spiritual and personal journeys. Gratitude was also extended to the volunteer teachers who offer free in-person and online classes, embodying the true spirit of service and inclusivity.
