Kapil’s column with a punch

Kapil could not have chosen better, more controversial subject than to highlight Labour Party’s attitude in general and Ed Milibend’s in particular towards Indian/Hindu communities with in-depth research. (Is Labour going Sharia?) No wonder Labour’s membership is plummeting fast, as well as placebo Ed’s popularity amongst Labour voters with just 34% approval rate, as widely publicized in national papers, even lower than Nick Clegg’s!

Back-bench rebellion is fermenting for some time. Only lack of creditable alternative and Ed’s perseverance is keeping Ed in his post, although there is no shortage of credible alternatives, with Yvette Cooper, Douglas Alexander, Andy Burnham are all experienced politicians but media’s favourite is Alan Johnson, ex-postman who has ruled himself out. If Ed goes, Conservatives will lose their most winnable asset?

My choice is young, intelligent Chuka Umunna, Shadow Business Secretary who comes out well on TV but whether Britain is ready to have its first black PM is a million dollar question. But if America can have Obama, why not Umunna for Britain?

Vote bank politics imported from India is cementing fast, especially amongst philander Labour MPs creating den of inequality that will be detrimental to democracy, splitting ethnic communities on religion, colour and cultural background.

Has Labour learnt nothing from Ken’s fiasco to win Mayoral election on such tactics, handing it over on a plate to Boris?
