The Europe India Forum (EIF) has announced that it will be hosting a reception in honour of Prime Minister Modi at Wembley Stadium on 13 November. Over 70,000 people are expected to attend this special invitation only "Olympic style" event.
It will be the largest reception any foreign head of government has ever received in the UK and will also be the largest an Indian Prime Minister has ever received anywhere outside India.
The Reception themed "Two Great Nations. One Glorious Future." will kick off with a specially produced cultural show featuring some of the very best British Indian artists.
Prime Minister Modi's keynote address will be followed by what is expected to be the country's largest fireworks display, as the visit coincides with the festival of Diwali.
Members of Parliament from across the political spectrum, business leaders, and personalities from the world of entertainment, art and culture are also expected to attend.

Professor Nath Puri CBE, a founding member of EIF, said: "Prime Minister Modi has emerged as a iconic figure on the world stage. This Olympics style reception he will receive at Wembley stadium will not only reflect the respect and adulation he has within the British Indian community, but will highlight and celebrate his vision for a peaceful and prosperous India. It will bring together people from all communities and backgrounds in a mood of celebration of all that unites us as countries and people."
In welcoming the announcement, The Rt Hon Priti Patel MP, UK Minister for Employment and Prime Minister Cameron's Indian Diaspora Champion said: "The UK Government places huge importance on the special relationship with India. Prime Minister Modi's forthcoming visit and the community reception will only serve to strengthen the bond of friendship between our two great nations. I encourage as many community organisations to register their support."
Virendra Sharma MP, chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on India-UK Relations said "The UK's 1.5 million India diaspora are an excellent bridge between the UK and India. Prime Minister Modi has the largest democratic mandate in the history of the world. As a person of Indian origin, I am hugely looking forward to this defining moment where we can celebrate our democracies and shared values."
Shamsuddin Agha, President of the Indian Muslim Federation said, “I am delighted that Shri Narendra Modi, our Prime Minister, will be visiting the UK shortly. I have no doubt that it will strengthen the ties between our great nations. It will bring people closer than ever before. It will bolster trade and economic cooperation.
The visit will demolish the walls of hatred and extremism. It will work towards the development of all people irrespective of caste, creed or religion and create a pluralistic, multicultural society in India.”
Gurmail Singh Mahli, President of Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall, the largest Sikh Gurdwara in the UK said “Prime Minister Modi's farsighted leadership is worthy of praise and deserves recognition. Success in our home state of Punjab will share and contribute further in the success of India and we all support the visionary direction of Prime Minsiter Modi.”

What is a Welcome Partner?
- The website is open for Welcome Partner registrations till 5th September 2015.
- A Welcome Partner is an approved not for profit organisation that the organiser (Europe India Forum) have allocated invitations to.
- The official website will publish a list of official welcome partners after Welcome Partner registrations close on 5th September 2015.
- Businesses cannot register as Welcome Partners.
- Welcome Partners will go through a verification process which will involve the relevant authorities so registration does not guarantee Welcome Partner Status.
What is the process for getting an invitation?
- Organisations who are successfully appointed Welcome Partners will be provide guidance on how to register for invitations via the site from the 5th September onwards.
- Welcome Partners will issue codes to their associated membership which individuals can then use via the official website to make applications for invitations from.
- If you are not associated with one of the Welcome Partners you can make a General registration via the official website after 19th September 2015.
- Anyone that wishes to attend the event can do so by applying for an invitation to the reception. All applications that are received are subject to security checks by the relevant authorities.
- You can only register for an invitation online using the official website www.ukwelcomesmodi.org
If I register do I receive an invitation?
- If you apply for an invitation to the event, you are not guaranteed to receive one.
- General applications will be subject to a lottery system to ensure fair allocation of invitations.
- Invitations cannot be bought and there is no cost of entry for successful applicants.
- All those who succeed in receiving an invitation must remember that invitations are strictly non-transferable and will be subject to ID checks on the event day.
Can I make multiple applications for invitations?
- Please do not make multiple applications for invitations via multiple Welcome Partners or General registrations. If you do, you will be removed from the lottery process of invitation allocation.
- Please note your ID will be cross-checked across all invitation applications and if multiple registrations are made your application will be removed from the lottery process and excluded from consideration for an invitation.
- We welcome anyone who is interested in attending the event to apply for an invitation either via a Welcome Partner organisation you are a member of or are known to, or as an individual applicant under the general application process.
How many invites can I apply for?
- You will be able to register yourself and up to five other people when applying for an invitation.
What do I need to attend?
- In order to attend the event, you must have either: a valid passport, or a valid Driving Licence.
- An adult carrying valid identification must accompany those under the age of 18 at all times.
