Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput are officially Mr and Mrs Kapoor after they wedded in a close family ceremony. The wedding was a family affair. “They wanted a very private ceremony. Only around 40 of their close friends and family were present,” a source close to the actor said. The venue of the wedding had tight security and there were barricades placed on the road near the bungalow.
The couple married at industrialist Shivinder Singh’s farmhouse in Delhi. “My bhabhi is very nice, I hope sabko aisi bhabhi mile,” Sanah, Shahid’s step-sister told the media, as she accompanied the couple, along with Shahid’s father, actor Pankaj Kapoor and step-mother Supriya Pathak. “Thank you so much for your support, we look forward to spending this time with our family,” said Pankaj.
The Sangeet ceremony was attended by only 50 guests. A source said, “There were 45 people from Shahid's side and the remaining 105-odd guests were from Mira's side. At one point, it was decided that the two sides. Sasha with his parents, friends and siblings, and Mira's parents and relatives, would form two teams and compete with one another. And though Sasha's side had just 45 people, it won, thanks to the groom himself, who is a proficient dancer.”
The wedding started at 5 am at a private bungalow on the Delhi-Gurgaon highway. There was no music in the Baaraat except for dhols. Shahid dancesd in a golden sherwani and pagdi. Radha Soami bhakts from across India were expected. All the relatives wore blue turbans.
The wedding ended at around 12.30pm, after which the couple lunched with the family and their Guru from the Radha Soami Satsang Beas. Sources confirmed 30 to 40 guests were present when Mira, 21, and Shahid, 34, exchanged their vows.
