A video of a flashmob of more than 50 dancers went viral recently attracting media attention. Recognising themselves as the BollyMobUk, the participants are mainly members of Shiamak Davar's London Dance Academy, who shared they were inspired by celebrity dance reality show, Nach Baliye.
The zippy performance put together by the group created waves on social media and the video reached over 100K cumulative views within 2 weeks. In 24 hours of being shared on Star Plus' Facebook page, it crossed 40,000 viewers and generated shares from around 100K viewing audience, only to grow by the day.
BollyMobUK made such an impact, the makers of the show have announced they will broadcast the video on the Grand Finale on 19th July. President of Star International, Gurjeev Singh Kapoor said, “We are very pleased with the fan following Nach Baliye has generated across the UK and as a humbling tribute to the love of dancing, the London flash mob will be showcased during the grand finale of Nach Baliye on the 19th July on Star Plus.”
Dance reality-television series, Nach Baliye 7 features celebrity couples compete to win the title. This year the show was judged by actress Preity Zinta, author Chetan Bhagat and choreographer Marzi Pestonji.
