Singer and composer Bappi Lahiri will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the San Francisco Global Movie Fest, this year. The 62- year -old Bengali who popularised synthesised disco music in the 1980s, is synonymous to Indian disco culture. The first music director to get the China Award in Beijing, Bappi entered the Guinness Book of World Records for recording over 180 songs for 33 films in 1986. Ecstatic about the honour, he says,“It feels great when the audiences love you. It is this adulation that keeps us alive and going. Eagerly looking forward to the San Francisco Global Movie Fest this August.” The event is scheduled on 7th August.
